Frequently Asked Questions

How likely am I to see bears during the tour?

While bear sightings are common, they cannot be guaranteed since this is a wild, natural environment. However, the tour is scheduled during the peak salmon run, which significantly increases the chances of observing bears.

What should I wear, and do I need special equipment?

Dress in layers, as Alaskan weather can change quickly. We recommend bringing a waterproof jacket, even though we provide rain gear, including a hooded jacket, pants, and rubber boots.

Is this tour suitable for children?

The tour is suitable for children aged 12 and older. The wilderness environment and the need to follow safety guidelines closely make it more appropriate for older children and teenagers. If you’re considering a private tour, children as young as 8 are welcome as long as the entire group books together

Why can’t pregnant women join the tour?

The tour takes place in a rugged environment without immediate access to medical facilities, which can be concerning in the event of an emergency. The inherent risks of wilderness travel, coupled with the physical demands of entering and exiting a floatplane and hiking on uneven terrain, make the tour unsuitable for pregnant women.
