Sitka Wildlife Photography Worskhop on the Water
Description
This three-hour wildlife photography trip is a calm, thoughtful way to spend time on the water in Sitka Sound while learning to take more meaningful photos. It isn’t rushed or technical for its own sake. The goal is simple: help you notice what’s happening and show you how to capture it naturally.
You’ll leave from Crescent Harbor and travel by small boat through protected bays and island passages. The route changes based on weather, light, and tides. This keeps the tour flexible and responsive. You may see whales, otters resting in kelp, puffins skimming water, or eagles watching from shore. There’s also time to shoot landscapes, rocky coasts, forests, and calm reflections.
As the trip unfolds, you’ll get easy tips on light, timing, and composition. Nothing is rushed, and questions are welcome. Whether you use a phone or a camera, you’ll get practical ideas you can use right away. With just six guests on board, there’s room to move, try angles, and take your time.
The boat’s heated cabin ensures you stay warm and comfortable, even when Sitka’s unpredictable weather changes. Complimentary snacks and hot drinks help you relax and focus on your photography. After three hours, most guests leave with improved camera skills and a stronger connection to the area's unique beauty.
