Your wildlife journey on this Eagles, Raptors & Rainforest Experience begins with a convenient pick up at the cruise ship docks and a scenic 8-mile coastal drive to the reserve. Begin with an easy half-mile walk as your naturalist guide leads you through the forest to the overlook at Herring Creek. Wildlife is often seen here, especially during the salmon spawning season when bears and seals come to feed at the creek! Have your camera ready and don't hesitate to ask your friendly guide questions about the local plants and animals! Next, it's time to enjoy an exciting 30-minute presentation at the flight auditorium where you'll learn about the behaviors of these birds while they fly right before your eyes! Additionally, you'll visit the raptor courtyard for viewing more incredible birds and a Q&A with the handler.
This raptor center and other similar organizations have done such amazing work rehabilitating these birds of prey that they have been able to move the Bald Eagle off of the endangered species list. Part of the proceeds from these tours directly benefits their rehabilitation efforts, education, and research.
There's lots more to explore at the center and you'll have free time to do so! Check out the historic Lumber Company Saw Mill, see the impressive totem pole park, watch a blacksmith at work, and shop for unique goods at the general store. You'll return back to town with a camera full of incredible wildlife photos and fond memories from your Eagles, Raptors & Rainforest Experience!
